Beth and Moira's civil partnership
Beth and Moira's civil partnership was full of individual flair and attention to detail. Both bridal outfits were custom made and looked fabulous on the day! The strongest thing that came through for me from the couple was how much effort they had put into making the whole day as relaxed and sociable as possible for all their guests and this is something that I tried to reflect with a warm, candid style of photography.
Spread over three venues in the centre of Brighton, the day required a highly mobile camera and lighting system (and the help of my lovely assistant) to move between different locations and lighting conditions. The ceremony itself took place in the Grade I Listed Brighton Registry Office, the wedding banquet was held at Indian Summer restaurant and after a short walk the party carried on into the wee hours at the Latest Bar in Kemptown.
Darren was an absolute pleasure to work with for our civil partnership. He was calm and reassuring, this started with him photographing us getting ready which allowed us to feel comfortable and at ease with the camera. He even included knotting Beth’s tie in his services! He listened to what we wanted and had a real understanding of our vision and perspective. Darren's photography captured the joy, love and laughter of our day. Our celebration encompassed three different venues and Darren seamlessly moved between each venue effortlessly adapting to each one. The photos reflect the view of someone who was involved and at the heart of the wedding. We trusted Darren completely, and could enjoy the day with no concerns about the quality of the photos. When we look at the pictures they evoke wonderful memories that capture the mood and essence of our wedding day.
